NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 87thAnnual General Meeting of the Rockwell College Union (the “Union”) will be held on Monday, 14 May 2012, at 6.30 p.m. in the Library, Rockwell College, Co. Tipperary, for the following purposes: -

 Ordinary Business

 1.     To receive the Report of the President and the Accounts for the year 2011/12

2.     To receive the Report of the Principal of Rockwell College

3.     To elect the Governing Body, by resolution

4.     To elect the President

5.     To elect the Vice President

6.     To elect the Second Vice President

7.     To elect the Honorary Secretary

8.     To elect the Honorary Treasurer

9.     To elect the Membership Secretary

10.  To elect the Webmaster

 Special Business

 A Motion will be proposed at the AGM to amend the Constitution (attached hereto) of the Union to

a.     The deletion of Article 3 (c) (i) thereby removing the  President of the College as an Ex- officio member of the Union to take account of the Organisation/ Management  changes introduced at Rockwell College,

b.     The deletion of Article 3 (c) (ii) as being obsolete.

c.     The insertion of the following in place of Article  3(c) (i). “The Principal for the time being of Rockwell College”.

d.     The insertion of the following in place of Article 3 (c) (ii). “The Superior of the Spiritan Community at Rockwell College”.

e.     New Article 3 (c) (iii) “ The Chairman of the Board of Management”

f.      The amendment of Article 12 by the deletion of the words: “ The President for the time being of Rockwell College,

o   A representative of each Regional Committee established in accordance with paragraph 40.

o   Each Regional Organiser for the time being appointed in accordance with paragraph 40.

o   A representative of each Club or Society for the time being affiliated in accordance with paragraph 47.”

g.     The amendment of Article 2 (a), (b) & (c) by insertion of the word “Spiritans” in place of the words “Holy Ghost Fathers” where they appear.

h.     The amendment of Articles 7, 22, 25 & 36 by insertion of “their” in place of “his”

i.      The amendment of Articles 38 by insertion of “them” in place of “him”

 A minimum of 10 members are required to attend to form a quorum for the AGM.

 Members are invited to meet in the College for refreshments at 6pm
