Our preparations for the English game went very well, we had no major injury concerns and spirits were high in the camp. We are looking for our first win in the championship, which is needed if we are to have any chance of getting into the semi-finals. We know what it is like to beat the English as we defeated them in the Six Nations in last February. They are a very physical side, very powerful upfront and have the ability to spread it wide but I think we have enough firepower to beat them.
I don’t know what went wrong today! It was like we were stuck to the ground! We started the game well but then England slowly began to take control of the it. It was essential that Andrew Conway scored the try he did just before the break to keep us in the game. We were only down by 5 points and were not playing well. At half time thought we could get the ball rolling early in the second half and lay down of dominance on the game. We stared the second half well and were looking to put some early points on the board but out discipline let us down big time. To be honest I don’t think the referee did us any major favours. They pushed on and got two quick tries in the last ten minutes which really killed the game off but in fairness to the lads, we battled until the end and we were rewarded with a try at the end. I’m gutted with the loss which means we can’t win the tournament but with a win against the Argies in four days time we can still finish fifth in the world.
