Rockwell College opens new Hall of Residence

On 30 August 2005, the College welcomed its first year boarding students to a new accommodation facility, ‘The Shanahan Hall of Residence’. This building is the former Agricultural College, which has been renovated and modified to accommodate boarding students. Following the arrival of all boarders the facility now accommodates 116 boarding students.

The official opening of the Hall of Residence was celebrated on Sunday, 11 September 2005. This began with a Mass in the College Chapel followed by a re-dedication of the building and a blessing performed by the Provincial, Fr Pat Palmer. This was followed by a reception in the new Hall of Residence with members of the Community, Staff and Union Governing Body present.

Mr Frank Fitzgerald has been appointed as the Director of the Hall of Residence. The building is an excellent addition to the College facilities and highlights the progressive nature of the College.
