2000 - 2002 Mr. Brendan Sutton
Dear Member,
Many thanks, on behalf of the Union, for your
continued support of the Rockwell College Union and its activities.
The school motto- Inter Mutanda Constantia- (Constancy
in the midst of inevitable change) sets a vision, which is shaping
Rockwell to be what it is today and can be tomorrow. During the
last year we heard of the decision of the Holy Ghost Fathers to
hand over management of their schools. In an editorial in the Irish
Times in November referring to this decision, it was said that "
the Holy Ghost Schools have been schools of excellence of which
any state would be proud" and " What is most striking
is how warmly and affectionately past pupils speak of their school
days". I think we would agree with these comments.
We are mostly products of Rockwell College Boarding
School for boys, with students from all parts of Ireland and abroad,
however today the school educates 450 students, boarders and day
boarders, girls and boys, mainly from the large hinterland around
the College. We, as members of the Past Pupils Union, need to take
on board these changes and make sure that the events and functions
we organise, serve all our past pupils.
We are always interested and are grateful for
any suggestions and comments on the events we organise.
Please support the events listed in the Diary.
